We would all love to see our children reading Chinese books for pleasure - or reading Chinese books at all!
Unfortunately, reading in Chinese is not a favourite activity for most CAL students in Hong Kong.
In this presentation we looked at the specific challenges faced by students from non-Chinese literate families when reading in Chinese.
The session focused on practical strategies to support Chinese reading and gave recommendations for suitable books.
We discussed the pros and cons of using a digi-pen and looked at opportunities for online reading.
